Air Batang Tioman Island goes by many other names like Ayer Batang or ABC Village as it is often and fondly referred to.
This rural village sits on the west coast of Tioman Island north of, and next to Tekek if not for the hill in between!

Air Batang Village (Kampung Air Batang), Tioman
Jetty Nearby: Air Batang Jetty or ABC jetty
ABC jetty is usually the fourth pier stop for ferry services operating from Mersing Jetty or Tanjung Gemok Jetty.
The jetty is almost directly in the middle of the long bay at Air Batang Tioman.

How To Get To Air Batang Tioman
You will need to board a 1.5 hour ferry from Mersing Jetty or Tanjung Gemok Jetty to reach Air Batang Tioman.
Getting Around Air Batang Tioman
The main transport in this village is motorcycle since there is only a small concrete path that follows the shoreline.
But you can walk along a tidy path that crosses a small hill, to the neighboring Tekek Tioman and even continue right on to Salang Tioman!
And if you want to visit other villages like Genting Tioman or Nipah Tioman, a water taxi is the way to go!

What To Do At Air Batang Tioman
1. Diving & Snorkelling
Snorkelling and diving among coral is excellent straight from the northern part of Air Batang beach and near Pulau Soyak!

2. Swimming & Kayaking
Swimming and kayaking at Air Batang beach is better at the southern side of the beach which has less rocks.
3. Trek to the Penuba Beach, Monkey bay & Salang Village
The north-bound narrow trail takes 15 minutes uphill to Panuba Bay. And further on, it will take close to an hour to walk to the golden sands of Monkey beach.
If you continue still, you will make to Salang Tioman in 45 minutes after a long steep climb!

4. Island-hopping Trips
Your resort at ABC village may be able to arrange a day of island-hopping to either beautiful Renggis Island or Coral Island!
5. Fishing Trip
Some resorts offer fishing trips. Do check with your respective resort if this is something that you’re interested in!

ABC Beach At Air Batang Tioman
Air Batang Beach goes on for 1.5km and the jetty divides the beach into two with the southern side having more sand for sunbathing and the like.
During low season (~end of October), you’ll only come across a few people on the beach!
The northern end of the beach is rockier but safer for children to swim. And it’s great fun to investigate the seabed during low tide!
And if you want to go snorkelling or diving, the northern side is better!
From this beach, you can find a few dive centers and eateries close by. And you can walk to the Marine Park via a boardwalk from the west end.
The beach is where you’ll find the jungle trail that leads to Salang Tioman too!

Even if you stay for a week at Air Batang Tioman, it’s not likely you’ll run out of places to eat!
It’s easy to find both local and western cuisine at this village!

This shallow reef of 5 to 12 meters is ideal for your refreshing your diving skills or learning how to dive!
Spot cuttlefish, gobies, seahorses and turtles if you can!
2. Soyak Island
Closer to Salang Tioman but still accessible from Air Batang Tioman, this diving site of soft and hard coral, is host to many species of fish and even Hawksbill turtles!

3. KM Sipadan & Sawadee Wrecks
A total of 3 wrecks make this an especially fascinating dive – especially for those who have a Nitrox certificate or particular experience in diving among wrecks!
Together, the wrecks form an artificial reef which serves as a nesting ground for juvenile fish. And depending on the season, you may see yellow barracuda too!
Nightlife At Air Batang Tioman
Air Batang Tioman has one of the liveliest night scenes in comparison to other villages on Tioman Island.
There are adequate bars to kick back with a sun downer!

All the way at the very southern end of ABC beach is where you can find this cheerful little beachfront bar with amazing sunset views!
Get a pizza to accompany your beer!
2. Halo Bar (Hello Bar / Helo Bar)
Open daily every day, this beachfront shack with a bar is managed by Nazri’s Place 2.
Beers are cheap during their happy hour!
3. Ari's Café
This one’s on the way to Tekek Village.
4. B&J Bar
Open from the early earning until 11pm and right next to a dive shop (B&J dive shop), this the place to share diving stories of the day over beer, wine or spirits!
5. A Peace Place
Opposite Ray Divers, is this quaint bar that sometimes hosts live music shows put up by the locals!
6. Ketapang Roof
Besides some late night drinks, you can have something to eat too by the ABC jetty!

In a private bay of its own with 2 acres of hillside jungle, the very location of Panuba Inn Resort comes close to paradise!
Wide range of accommodation consisting of either rooms in the double-storey main building by the beach or wooden chalets on the hill!
2. Bamboo Hill Chalets (Recommended)
Bamboo Hill Chalets is a hill-top budget resort east of Air Batang Tioman and at the intersection of the Panuba Inn/ Monkey Bay trail!
They have a limited number of basic chalets that look out towards the bay from up the hill and these hit the spot if you value your privacy and wish to be surrounded by nature!
3. ABC Chalet N Restaurant (Recommended)
Conveniently walking distance from the jetty with their own restaurant:
Long-standing ABC Chalet N Restaurant offers budget accommodation with their garden or sea view chalets. These come with a fan and attached bathroom.

4. Nazri's Place 2 (Or Nazri’s Beach Cabanas)
As you can tell by the name, this is the second budget resort owned by Mr. Nazri.
The garden or sea view chalets cater mostly to couples and come with air-conditioning and private bathrooms (with or without hot water according to what you book).
They have two dining options here – Green Restaurant or Halo Bar.
5. Double Ace AKA Restu Chalet
A family-run resort that have bungalows and chalets available for booking in one of the prettiest spots on the coast!
Rooms cater towards families and groups rather than couples!
6. Tioman House Bungalows
Choose between traditional Malay-style bungalows or villas at this resort that happens to be next to the B&J Diving Centre!
The basic rooms have come with everything you need including a small fridge and coffee-making amenities. Which is good value for your money!
7. Fiqthya Chalet And Café
Practically next door to B&J Dive Center, Fiqthya Chalet and Café has simple chalets are clean and come with comfortable beds.
Location-wise, they are in the middle of ABC beach.
But outstanding service is what sets this budget resort apart from the others!
8. Johan's Resort
Johan’s Resort has a central location in Air Batang Village and that’s the best thing about it!
Air-conditioned rooms including family rooms and their own restaurant are what they offer at Johan’s Resort.
9. South Pacific Chalets
South Pacific Chalets (or SP Barakah Chalet) is a budget hotel on a beachfront property overlooking the rocky bay.
Rooms are simple with fans and there are air-conditioned chalets with hot showers and private balconies too.
10. Nordin Chalet Air Batang
For the price, one can hardly complain about the spacious rooms with air-conditioning and attached bathrooms.
As for the location, the jetty and restaurants are within easy reach!
11. YP Chalet
5 minutes’ to the right of the jetty, YP Chalet is like its own little village right in ABC Village!
YP Chalet is often packed with diving enthusiasts during public holidays (both Malaysia and Singapore).
12. Mokhtar's Place
Many different budget room arrangements are available at Mokhtar’s Place including family rooms.
The quad rooms have air-conditioning, hot showers, a mini fridge and an electric kettle!
13. Mawar Beach Chalet
You will be able to locate this resort easily once you reach the jetty. This budget lodging has incredibly low prices for their basic rooms with cold showers and fans.
Although they do have more expensive rooms with air-conditioning too.
It’s close to but simultaneously far enough from the more lively section of the beach for you to get a peaceful sleep!
